At this column you can learn to create your own egg-O-shOOter.
<<<     Creating a new game directory     >>>
Before manipulating your egg-O-shOOter you should backup the original directory! Start the konqueror or explorer and go to the directory of egg-O-shOOter (e.g. c:\program files\egg-O-shOOter). Here at you will find the subdirectories of all installed themes. If you like to alter the standard theme, make a copy of the whole subdirectory 'standard'. Name the new directory in a way you like (e.g. 'MyKitchen'). Make all modifications at the files of the newly created directory. If something goes wrong, you can always replace the destroyed data by the original files contained in the subdirectory 'standard'. Believe me, there are many possibilities to destroy your data... How can I select the copied theme during playing the game? By now the copied theme is named like the original - 'dogs in the kitchen'. To modify the name, you have to open the file 'themes.txt', placed in the subdirectory 'MyKitchen', with the help of a text editor. Right at the beginning of the file you can see the line '[Theme-Name English]' and two lines below the line with the name of the theme. Alter 'Dogs in the kitchen' to 'My cooking studio'. Now you can find your new theme at menu point '7 - choose theme' after starting egg-O-shOOter. It is no bad idea to replace the original background color, so you will always realize that you are playing your altered theme. Set the three variables for the background color to a dark red like below: BackColorR=90 BackColorR=20 BackColorR=20 Now you have got the fundamental data for your own experiments around egg-O-shOOter. When modifying the game, always think of the original spirit. It is no problem to award points for destroying coffee cups, dishes or other objects. Rewarding senseless violence is not my tenor! Furthermore it is boring to get a bonus with every shot you fire. Stay always at the fair side of live when creating a new theme. Now let's start.
